In January I was so very honored and privileged to get to be a part of a series that "Whispering" Bill Anderson is hosting - a "Family Reunion" for an amazing array of country music legends. Moe Bandy, one of the country music legends involved in this project is on the same label I'm recording on, and our wonderful producer Dennis Money invited me along for the ride!

It was so surreal to have dinner with Moe Bandy, Johnny Lee ("Lookin' for Love in All the Wrong Places"), and Larry Gatlin (of the Gatlin Brothers - "All the Gold in California") and his son. They were so real and down-to-earth, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them all.

The next day I got to attend a day of taping of the show, which will be a 9-disc DVD set which will be available for sale soon. Some of the people I got to meet were:

continue below...

• "Whispering Bill" Anderson - Saginaw Michigan, wrote "Whiskey Lullaby" for Brad Paisley and Allison Krauss, wrote "Give it Away" for George Strait, wrote "Make Sure You've Got it All" for Colin Raye, "Wish You Were Here" for Mark Wills, "Two Teardrops" for Steve Wariner
• The Gatlin Brothers (Larry, Steve, Rudy) – "All the Gold in California"
• Patti Page – "The Tennessee Waltz", "How Much is That Doggie in the Window", "Mockin' Bird Hill"
• Moe Bandy – "Bandy the Rodeo Clown", "Til I'm Too Old to Die Young"
• Janie Fricke – "It's a Cheatin' Situation" (duet with Moe Bandy)
• Joe Stampley –" Just Good Ol' Boys" (duet with Moe Bandy)
• Johnny Lee – "Lookin' for Love (In All the Wrong Places)", "Cherokee Fiddle", "You Could've Heard a Heart Break", "Yellow Rose of Texas"
• Crystal Gayle - sister of Loretta Lynn and sang "Don't it Make My Brown Eyes Blue", "Talking in Your Sleep"
• Jimmy Fortune (of the Statler Brothers) – "Flowers on the Wall", "Bed of Roses"
• Billy "Crash" Craddock – "Dream Lover", "Walk Softly"
• Little Jimmy Dickens – "Country Boy", "I'm Little But I'm Loud"
• The Gatlin Brothers (Larry, Rudy, and Steve) – "All the Gold in California" - Actually I got to meet Larry at dinner and I met Rudy and Steve in the studio where they are recording a new album...

Some of the other folks that I saw, but didn't get to meet were Barbara Fairchild, Lacy J Dalton, Mel McDaniel, Charlie Louvin (the Louvin Brothers), and so many more that my memory is failing me on!
