It occurs to me today - as it should - that I have just SOO much to be thankful for!  I didn't plan to come home for Thanksgiving - I planned to stay in Tennessee, then come for Christmas.  When I found out that my older sister Sharen - who lives in Texas - planned to come with her family for Thanksgiving, I changed my plans so that my whole family could be together.  If you don't know my family - I have FOUR sisters, and they all have families.  It is quite a chore to get us all together!  We all made the trek to Yorktown, VA to be together for Thanksgiving today, and all 19 of us stuffed ourselves into my sister Shari's house for an amazing Thanksgiving dinner.  It was SO nice to be around my sisters and all of my nieces and nephews (7 and one on the way)!  It's sad to be grown up and be all separated from each other, so we definitely treasure those times together.

Being in Virginia has a strange effect on my health... when I come home, I seem to get sick every time due to the different environmental factors.  This time, I was already sick when I left Tennessee.  I was on the way to getting better, but performing in smoky bars sent me back to Recovery Square 1...  In Nashville, smoking isn't allowed in restaurants and most bars, but in Virginia, you can - and they do - right in your face, the whole time you're playing.  I have nothing against people that smoke, but I definitely have an allergy to that smoke... it kills me!

I played in Williamsburg at Aromas, and it warmed my heart to have the entire side of the restaurant filled with people who came out to hear me sing, including all the groupies, and sisters Kasi and Shari and their families.  The gig in Northern Virginia was a little chaotic (I'm not even going there), but I made it through!  And the gig at Cafe Diem was great - I had a great time playing almost 3 hours of acoustic tunes - mostly originals and old country songs.  It was great!  I sold a bunch of CDs - and the highlight of the show came at the end - when I was approached by someone from CBS Channel 6 who asked me to come back to perform on the Morning Show, which airs all over the state of Virginia!  I'm looking forward to that, and I'll definitely let everyone know when that's going to be happening.

As it stands right now, I won't be coming back for Christmas... :( With the price of gas right now, and the length of the drive, it's just very difficult to do that trip two months in a row.  But it won't be long before I'm back!  I'll be setting up some shows - probably for January or February, in conjunction with the CBS show.  I'll try to do better about letting you all know!

Well, that's all from me right now, and I'd like to THANK everyone of my family, friends, and fans who have been SUCH faithful supporters of what I do.  It definitely inspires me to continue following this dream, and the sweet things that you do that let me know that you're still behind me are the stepping stones that get me through when it's gettin' deep!  I am VERY THANKFUL for each and every one of you!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
