Well, it's official!  My house in Virginia has sold, and that is a huge relief!  In the 11 months I've lived in Tennessee, I've come home almost every month to play shows and make a little money so I could pay the bills, since making money as a musician is VERY hard in Nashville - until you make it big, that is!  :)  Now that I don't have to worry about a mortgage payment, I'll be able to concentrate on writing and playing shows here in Nashville, rather than planning trips to Virginia each month.  I'll probably come home at Christmas and I may play a few shows then, but other than that, this will be my last trip to Virginia this year.  I'll be packing 10 shows into 2 1/2 weeks, so I hope to see as many of you as possible while I'm there!

Packing up the remainder of my stuff and moving everything to Tennessee was no picnic, and in true Kari-fashion was not without "excitement".  Have you ever heard a tire blow out on a 15-foot U-Haul truck?  Took more than a minute to get that fixed... and I thought they just called them "roach motels" as a joke... but no... it's real... I will stay away from Super 8 from now on. And thank God for those rumble strips on the side of the road... but I made it!  Thank you SO much to the people that helped with the move, especially James, Bethany, Jeremy, Brett, and my Dad and Mom.

More good news - now that I am able to spend more time here in Tennessee, I am beginning to plan recording of an album here in Nashville!  I am VERY excited to be working with Dennis Money, producer and president of independent record label Sweetsong Nashville, on Music Row.  Besides being an amazing musician and producer, he is one of the very first people I met here in Nashville on my first night out, and one of the nicest people I've ever met!  If you don't have my first two albums, they are always available at www.cdbaby.com/karismith.  

And more more good news - some of you may remember the show that I did at the Canal Club in May of this year, recording for the Music Seen that airs on PBS.  Well, the show has been scheduled!   It will air at 10pm EST on Thursday, October 18 on WCVE Richmond PBS and WHTJ Charlottesville PBS.  I am VERY excited about my TV "debut" and hope this is the first of many appearances.  :)
